After the procedure, the catheter is removed and a bandage is placed over the area where it was inserted. Your leg may be wrapped, typically for 1 day, to aid healing. You may be asked to walk, wear compression stockings and avoid standing for long periods of time to help speed your recovery. Many patients return to their normal daily activities within 1 to 2 days.
